When he’s not writing roundups for WP Plugin Weekly, Keanan can be found running one of his other WordPress software businesses, helping people manage their websites more easily or just trying to improve his best times in Mario Kart.

Hey there! There were 86 new plugins in the repository this week. Read on for some more information about our favorite.

As always, you can check out the full list of plugins published last week and make sure to follow WP Plugin Weekly on Twitter, where I tweet out some honorable mentions that didn’t make the newsletter. And now let’s take a look at the plugin of the week!

WPVulnerability

WPVulnerability is a plugin that analyzes public vulnerabilities in WordPress Core as well as plugins and themes and checks them against your WordPress site. If any vulnerable WordPress versions, themes, or plugins are found, the site owner is alerted to the vulnerability. The plugin uses the WordPress Vulnerability Database API to source the vulnerability information.

As cybersecurity becomes and even more important concern, plugins like these are very valuable in the fight to keep your WordPress site secure. While not the first of its kind, the fact that this plugin also comes with an open API for querying these vulnerabilities means that other plugins can start to use this information as well to make the greater WordPress experience even more secure.

That’s all folks!

That’s it for this week. I’ll be back next Monday morning with a brand new plugin. If there’s a plugin launching that you think I should know about hit reply to this email or DM me on Twitter.

And if you have any feedback about how to make this newsletter more valuable, I’d love to hear it. Just hit reply and let me know. I read every single response I get.

Talk soon,

Keanan
